Wauchope Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
Wauchope acupuncture is now available at The Wellness Collective!
Kim Gatenby is proud to announce she is now treating patients in the Wauchope/Port Macquarie area with acupuncture and Chinese medicine as of May 2024.
Kim practices an integrative style of healthcare, blending modern science and ancient wisdom. She has a bachelor degree in applied science (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and a masters degree in reproductive medicine.
Kim is happy to support your health goals, whether you want an alternative to western medicine, or want your acupuncture to complement your doctor’s treatments. Our goal is to prioritise your health needs at all times.
If possible, it’s a great idea to send Kim a copy of any recent (within the last 12 months) blood test results or scan reports so she can review them before your appointment. This allows Kim to offer you the most comprehensive integrative treatment available.
Kim is looking forward to offering the Wauchope community acupuncture and Chinese medicine for better health.
What to expect at your first Wauchope acupuncture appointment
If you’ve never experienced acupuncture before, we understand that the unknown can be a little daunting. That’s why we will always go at your pace and answer any questions you have. There are no silly questions!
In your first consultation, we will have a chat about your health concerns. Prior to your appointment at Wauchope Acupuncture, you will have filled in an intake form to give us a really comprehensive understanding of your symptoms, health history, and wellbeing goals.
After our chat, you get to experience the best part – ultra relaxing acupuncture. It’s often referred to as an “acu nap” as you may be so relaxed you fall asleep!
Kim uses thinner needles than is common in the industry, which means you will have a relaxing experience while still receiving the full benefit of acupuncture.
After your “acu nap” you may feel a combination of relaxed and also rejuvenated. Acupuncture functions in a cumulative way, meaning the more you have, the better your health becomes. We recommend starting with weekly acupuncture sessions, and as your health improves you can extend the time between appointments until you reach your happy spot where you can maintain the optimal health we have achieved.
Some conditions only require a few treatments, for example to relieve acute pain such as a sore lower back, or digestive upset after an overseas holiday. If you want some guidance on what you may require please feel welcome to get in touch before booking in.
If you are a fertility patient, we recommend weekly acupuncture appointments while trying to conceive until 12 weeks in pregnancy. We start to achieve optimum levels of health in reproductive care after 3-4 months of treatment, as this is how long it takes for sperm and eggs to develop (this may surprise you!).
As mentioned above, we love for you to feel comfortable, so questions about your care are always welcome. If you want to chat to us before booking in, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you at Wauchope Acupuncture soon!
